Vishwa Hindu Parishad – Guyana proudly coordinated the Navratri Festival 2025 celebrations across the nation from 22nd September to 2nd October, uniting devotees through devotion, cultural pride, and spiritual strength. This sacred festival, dedicated to Maa Durga, was observed at 26 mandirs nationwide, filling communities with divine vibrations through collective prayers, bhajans, and devotional programs that strengthened the roots of Sanatan Dharma in Guyana.
✨ A Festival of Unity
The theme for this year’s celebration was “Devotion, Unity & Dharma.” To make the observance more organized and spiritually uplifting, VHP Guyana introduced eco-friendly initiatives such as Maa Durga printed T-shirts and flags for volunteers and youth participants. These efforts created a uniform and vibrant atmosphere across all participating mandirs, reinforcing a shared sense of devotion and community.
🕉️ Inspiring Spiritual Discourses
A special highlight of the festival was the participation and blessings of Swami Aksharananda, who delivered powerful and uplifting discourses at D’Edward Vigneswaran Mandir (Berbice) and Par Upkarik Sabha – Yamuna Teerath Mandir (Essequibo). His presence inspired devotees, deepened their understanding of Dharma, and united communities through shared spiritual reflection.

The festival was celebrated across five key regions of Guyana — East Berbice-Corentyne, Mahaica to Georgetown, East Bank Demerara, West Coast Demerara & Bartica, and Essequibo Islands. Participating mandirs included: Joanna Hindu Mandir, Yakusari Mandir, Edinburgh Maha Sakthi Mandir, Enterprise Mandir, Success Hindu Temple, Gangama Mandir, Shri Krishna Dharmic Mandir, Lima Shiva Mandir, Badrinath Mandir, Aurora Mandir, and many others.
